The River is wide and navigable right up as far as Swanwick.
For the entire journey you’ll pass mile after mile moored yachts on double banks, in marinas, yacht clubs, slipways and swinging moorings.

After entry to the Hamble River, you’ll pass the MDL marinas at Hamble Point and Port Hamble, then, Mercury Marina, Universal Marina, Premier at Swanwick, Deacons and finally the small but beautiful, Elephant boatyard.
Nearly all of these marinas have their own bars and restaurants, but here at the upper reaches, you’ll find another small gem not known outside of the boating community – The Jolly Sailor at Bursledon. Great location on the water’s edge, and so atmospheric!
